Our Curriculum

At Green Grass Nursery, our curriculum blends the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework with the Reggio Emilia philosophy, all delivered through a fully bilingual Arabic-English programme. We believe that learning should be joyful, meaningful, and inclusive ,focused on the individual needs, strengths, and cultural identity of every child aged 1 to 5 years.

EYFS Framework

Our curriculum follows the UK EYFS framework which includes seven key areas of learning:

- Communication & Language
- Physical Development
- Personal, Social & Emotional Development
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding the World
- Expressive Arts & Design

Reggio Emilia Approach

Inspired by Reggio Emilia, we treat children as active participants in their learning. We build lessons around their interests and questions, using open-ended materials and daily provocations that spark exploration, creativity, and collaboration.

Bilingual Learning (Arabic + English)

Our unique bilingual programme is built on a daily alternation model, offering equal exposure to Arabic and English. We integrate Arabic through simplified al-Fusha using methods like Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL), Two-Way Immersion (TWI), and co-teaching.

Outdoor Classroom

We believe nature is a powerful teacher. Our outdoor spaces, classrooms with no walls, include gardens, mud kitchens, planting areas, and water play zones. Children are free to move, explore, and connect with the natural world , enhancing their cognitive, physical, and emotional development.

Inclusion

GGN is an inclusive nursery that welcomes children of all backgrounds and abilities. We work closely with a licensed SEND center and have an in-house SENDCo who ensures reasonable adjustments are made. Every child is supported to thrive within our warm, bilingual environment.

After School Clubs

We offer a variety of enriching extracurricular activities designed to support your child’s interests and energy after core hours. Our current offerings include:

- Ballet and Yoga
- Language Clubs
- Gardening and Outdoor Play
- Martial Arts
- Music & Movement
- Cooking Workshops

These programs help develop physical coordination, creativity, discipline, and confidence.
